(formerly “Shropshire Highlands Challenge”)
The Big 30!
Don’t miss the 30th edition of this iconic ride
Open for registrations until midnight Sunday June 5th
Founded and organised by Danny Mason for 25 years, the Highland Challenge is now organised by Ludlow Cycling Club.
66 hilly miles, with catering and toilets provided at stops en route.
The Challenge isn’t a race – no tags, timings or numbers. How you ride is up to you.
We normally attract both young fast club riders and older once-a-year tourers.
With ca. 1,430metres (4.700) feet of climbing and some challenging lanes in the rural corners of Shropshire, to complete it you’ll need some strength, stamina, bike handling ability and to be reasonably fit.
There is no road signage: you can either download the route in advance onto your GPS device or print out the map and route card to take with you.
It’s a great but tough day for all types.
After costs, all proceeds from the event in 2022 will go to Shropshire Wildlife Trust, who do so much to look after the beauty and wildlife of the terrain we ride through.
